Serhiy Zakharin, Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization, visited the State Scientific Control Institute of Biotechnology and Microorganism Strains, where he got acquainted with the new leptospirosis diagnostic laboratory. Leptospirosis is an infectious disease of animals, accompanied by fever, intoxication and damage to various organ systems.Serhiy Zakharin reported on measures to improve the laboratory network, in particular the purchase of new equipment and the development of digital tools. The possibility of educational activities for Ukrainian researchers is also being considered. Director of the Institute Andriy Tymoshenko noted that scientists are conducting research on the prevention of leptospirosis and implementing new methods. Serhii Zakharin emphasized the importance of the institute for biological safety in Ukraine and its achievements in microbiological research.
