DEPARTMENT OF BACTERIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND QUALITY CONTROL OF VETERINARY IMMUNOBIOLOGICAL AGENTS

Structure
The department includes 4 sectors:
- Sector of standardization and quality control of HIV (head – E.I. Bezvin).
- Sector for maintenance of reference strains of microorganisms
- Sector for the study and control of particularly dangerous infections (head – T.F. Kiselyova).
- Sector of study and bacteriological control of the quality of nutrient environments (head – V. S. Tyndyk).
The main directions of the unit's work
- Quality control of veterinary immunobiological means for the prevention and diagnosis of bacterial diseases of animals for compliance with the requirements of current regulatory documentation; control of the quality of HIV according to the indicator “contamination with foreign bacterial and fungal microflora”, supervision of the production and use of HIV.
- Organization and conduct of examination of dossiers and tests of domestic and imported veterinary immunobiological agents for the purpose of their registration and re-registration in Ukraine, study of the quality of drugs received under claims for compliance of their properties with the requirements of current regulatory documentation.
- Assessment (expertise) of regulatory and technical documentation both according to indicators of modernity and technology of manufacturing processes of bacterial preparations, as well as objectivity and reproducibility of methods of quality control of these preparations.
- Development of means and methods of standardization of veterinary immunobiological means.
- Development of methods of stabilization and standardization of production and control strains of bacteria for the production of HIV.
- Development, approval and introduction into the practice of veterinary medicine of modern research methods for indication and identification of causative agents of bacterial diseases of animals.
- Maintenance, storage, study and supply of microorganism reference strains of enterprises of biological industry, research institutions, laboratories of veterinary medicine and the health care system, higher education institutions, etc.
- Study of epizootic cultures of bacteria circulating among livestock of agricultural animals and poultry in the territory of Ukraine, with the aim of studying their main biological properties and selection of promising production strains.
- Development of methods of long-term storage and maintenance of collection cultures of microorganisms in a highly active state.
- Development of scientific and methodical materials on issues of quality control of veterinary immunobiological agents, research methods and modern achievements in the field of monitoring, diagnosis and prevention of bacterial diseases of animals.
- Development and harmonization of regulatory and legislative documentation to internationally agreed standards in the field of veterinary medicine to ensure the quality and reliability of microbiological research.
- Participation in scientific, scientific and practical conferences. Generalization and analysis of the results of scientific research, preparation and publication of scientific articles and recommendations.
- Participation in the organization and conduct of meetings, seminars, trainings, advanced training courses on issues related to the diagnosis and prevention of bacterial diseases of animals; standardization of means and methods of quality control of HIV.
