The main directions of the unit's work
The main areas of work of the Department of Molecular Biology:
– examination of veterinary immunobiological agents (VIZ) for contamination by third-party agents in accordance with Ph. Eur. 5.2.5
– molecular genetic verification of infectious agents in HIV, confirmation of the presence of a marker
– organization and conduct of commission tests of diagnostic test systems upon registration in Ukraine and verification of complaints
– research on molecular epizootology and phylogenetic monitoring
– research upon depositing in the National Collection of strains of microorganisms (confirmation of genus/species affiliation; genotype/subtype; gene deletions, presence of plasmids, antibiotic resistance genes, etc.)
– construction of recombinant plasmids
– advisory services on molecular diagnostics
– advisory services on hybridoma technology
– advisory services for preparation of registration documents
– scientific support of HIV development
– internship
The main areas of work of the department for physical and chemical research:
– quantitative determination of free formaldehyde
– quantitative determination of phenol
– quantitative determination of thiomersal
– quantitative determination of amino nitrogen in the nutrient medium
– quantitative determination of aluminum.
Achievements
- The means of molecular genetic identification of more than 100 infectious agents and their derivatives have been developed
- The scientific novelty of the developments is protected by 20 patents of Ukraine
- 15 scientific and methodical recommendations have been developed
